4 Cardi B had a showstopping fashion moment ahead of her performance at Pacha nightclub in New York City on Saturday. The rapper opted for a custom, vibrant hot pink ensemble and completed the monochrome look with matching Christian Louboutin heels.
She opted for the French luxury footwear designer’s popular Cassia Lace Up Alta style. The closed-toe sandal features an ankle tie and a sophisticated slingback design. Sitting on a towering 160mm stiletto heel, the style is typically crafted from black crepe satin, but Cardi B wore a hot pink version.
The square toe, inspired by ballet shoes, is finished with a ballet bow and the house’s signature Loubi red sole. The shoes retailed for $1,295 and are currently sold out on the designer’s website.
The Cassia Lace Up has been one Louboutin’s most talked-about releases in recent years. Celebrities took to the ballerina high heel trend just as quickly as other fashion enthusiasts, despite the style’s hefty price tag. The luxury house later introduced the shoes in a platform version and created a custom thigh-high platform version for Ariana Grande’s “The Eternal Sunshine” tour.
The shoes have also inspired countless imitations from other brands, making the popular design more affordable and accessible, while the original remains highly coveted among shoe lovers.
Cardi took the stage wearing the same ensemble, but she swapped out her 6.3-inch heels for silver and clear strappy sandals with a more sensible and stage-friendly heel. She paired both styles with a bright pink studded corset bodysuit, which was made for the surprise performance.
The vibrant hot pink, heavily studded bra-and-corset combination was cinched tightly at the waist and paired with matching sheer pink stockings.
