Mel C Gets Sporty in Retro-tinged Nike Air Max Sneakers in London

Mel C stepped out in a cool pair of sneakers, living up to her Sporty Spice nickname.

The Spice Girls alum served as a special guest to the SuperDry & Co event on Tuesday night in London. She performed a DJ set at the event, which celebrated the brand’s rebranding from Superdry. Mel C hung out with her Spice Girl bandmate Mel B’s daughter during the night, too.

Mel C slipped into a sporty pair of sneakers for the event. She wore Nike Air Max 90 shoes in the colorway “Vintage Green.” While there are many variations, collaborations, and colorways of this style, she opted for a more minimal design. The sneakers were mainly covered in white, cream and gray colors along the laces, midsole and vamp. Pops of deep green were seen on the foxing and tongue.

Nike’s Air Max 90 has been a popular style from the athletic retailer for decades now. Nike legend Tinker Hatfield designed the shoes, taking insporation from the 1987 Air Max and the 1989 Air Max Light. Over the years, the model has seen impressive collabs with brands like Off-White, Atmos, and recently, Patta.

Mel C paired the Nikes with a matching sweater dress. Her emerald green mini dress had long sleeves and a cable knit design. She added a gray varsity jacket over the dress from Superdry. The coat featured cream leather sleeves and several collegiate-style patches in shades of yellow and navy blue attached. Her bomber jacket stood out as she omitted from adding extra accessories or jewelry.
